What is Meperidine?

Meperidine is in a class of medications called narcotic analgesics. It is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

This particular medication acts very much like morphine, as it works by changing the way the body senses pain. For example, constipation, suppression of the cough reflex, and smooth muscle spasm are all reduced with meperidine.
